I have a question about vaginal itch......?!

Question: Please only serious answers!

I have been itchy "down there" for a couple days. I don't have any discharge or odor. What can be the cause? I have only had a yeast infection once before and this itching is similar but not as bad. And again I have NO strange discharge and NO yucky odors.

Anything else it can be??

You have identified the possibilities. Vagisil is for itching, monistat is for yeast infection. If either makes the symptoms go away, you don't need to go to the doctor.

Sounds like you have a slight yeast infection, clean yourself very good and douche heavily with a mixture of warm water and baking soda three times a day.

Well it can be some kind of infection that can be caused for a wide ammount of reasons like synthetic fibers or certain kinds of soap, the best thing you can do is going to your gynecologist, rather than a regular doctor, cause he will give you a more accurate answer.

This sometimes happens if you take antibiotics, so if you are, it might be a case of waiting it out.

My mum tells me to use live yoghurt (actually put it on the itchy area), and wear a santiary pad. It will cool and help it. sounds gross, but it works.

If you don't want to spread the yoghurt on the area, make sure you eat plenty of it (it's gotta be live though), as the good bacteria will help flush out your system.

a natural remedy is good too, called Acidophilus. they sell it in Boots or any natural food store, like GMC. It can be taken every day if you're prone to it, or just when you have the problem, but should be kep in the fridge.

I was told to see a doctor if it happens more than twice in 6 months, because there might be an underlying problem.

Otherwise, pop to Boots or any other pharmacy and get the Canesten pill. It costs around
