How long can ovulation last?!

Question: I think you're asking how long the egg survives and how long you're fertile? If that's correct, well then...

Ovulation occurs approximately 14 days before the start of your menstrual period. This will vary based on the length of your cycle. There is a five-day window around your date of ovulation that you will be fertile (this is how long sperm can last).

Here's a good ovulation calculator - you just type in the start date of your last period and the length of your cycle and it will tell you when you're fertile days are:

BabyCenter also has good information about how to track ovulation (checking your basal body temperature daily and checking cervical mucus) and your most fertile time of month.

Good luck :)

An egg lives 12-24 hours after leaving the ovary.
Normally only one egg is released each time of ovulation
Ovulation can be affected by stress, illness or disruption of normal routines
Some women may experience some light blood spotting during ovulation
Implantation of a fertilized egg normally takes place 6-12 days after ovulation

Hope this helps!!
