Using tampons??!

Question: I've had my period for 3 years now and i've never really been able to use them. I'm going on this 3 week thing in the outdoors this summer, and it's all really like intense hiking and swimming. I don't know what to do! i've read all the backs of the boxes but it never works out right

hun it took me 10 trys to get my first one in. what i did was i took a nice hott bath then i took the plastic applicator and i put some baby oil (prob not the best thing) around the tip of the tampon and i kinda pushed it in the area of my vagina at a slight angle aiming towards the upper back and felt pressure then POP it went in. but i was relaxed, hot water helps you do that alot, i would try to make sure you use a plastic appliator and some type of lubricant

if you have anymore questions please feel free to email me

what ?

Practice makes perfect. Start now and by the time the trip rolls around, you'll be a pro.

You might also want to talk to your doctor for tips.

It's really hard to put into words, but I can tell you that the first few times I tried tampons, I had to take them out and start over again, as I wasn't putting them in far enough. Go as far as you can (they won't get "lost" in there, trust me).
Use the plastic applicators if you're a beginner, it's a bit easier.
You just need to practice. With time, you'll get it!

I once had this issue, and it was because I didn't push them in far enough. When they aren't in enough, they kind of slip and then you can feel them and they almost hurt (or just feel weird). I'd try to get a tampon with an applicator (not that OB sh!t)- I always liked Tampax pearl, and make sure it is in far enough. You may need to put a little KY on the end, and make sure you RELAX, otherwise you are forcing it against tense muscles, and end up hurting yourself. It can take some practice, so work on it in the months before your trip. Put one in on your period and wear it around the house for a couple hours, then take it out. Keep practicing and you will get better at putting them in. They don't always work out for everybody, so don't be too bummed if you can't get it to work.
One more thing- if you take birth control, SOME products you can overlap months. Meaning you go thru the 3 weeks, then you start the next pack right away so you don't get your period. Find out from your doctor- if you do this you will skip a period, and then you won't have to be on it at all during your trip! Ask your doc tho cause you cannot do this with all products. Good luck.

Use slimline applicator tampons and keep trying! Once you get the hang of it youll never look back!

Oh and by the way it has nothing to do with being a virgin or not! Dont worry about that, it doesnt make a difference.

just try pushing it in a bit further that should help o and just read through the instructions again to refresh your mind and relax and keep relaxed while your putting it in

wat do u mean doesent work out right u just need to put it in right and when its right u shouldnt feel it at all. the way i do it is i sit on the closed lid of the toilet spread my legs and put it in wile being relaxed and it fits just fing i tried ding it standing up but that didnt work for me so wat ever works for u and the derection are on the inside usualy of the box and try to use the plastic ones cus the cardboard ones arent as smooth and dont go in as good i use tampax pearl u try it see how they work if still bad ask ur mom or somthing i am sure she used them

When I first started using them I used Tampax lite. They are skinnier and go in easily. just relax and keep trying.

If you are young and you are still a virgin, it may not work for anatomical reasons. That might be whats stopping them from working for you.
