Am i having heart palpatations?!


Question: for the past few weeks ive been eating nothing but fast food and soda and sometimes water. i havent gained 1 pound but im getting these weird feelings where my heart will beat fast and then it will feel like it skipped a beat and then i get this pressure on my chest. are these heart palpatations? plus i take the pill (orthotricyclen lo) but ive never had problems with it before

It sounds like you could have hypertiroidism. I would not discard heart problems but by your story you sound young. The combination of heart palpitations and increase hunger could be hypertiroidism. Check it in the web and compare your simptoms. Still I would recomend you see a doctor for routine test. Like an EKG, TSH mesurements, and free T3, CBC, and a comprehensive metabolic panel. If the doctor orders the tyroid function test stop taking the "pill" for at least a week before the test because it alters the test results.

ummm...stop eating fast food and drinking soda. Start drinking more water and eating healthier. Keep it up and you're going to have a heart attack.

You are putting a serious strain on your organs,and sometimes the only way to tell is when your heart starts its dance.

If the soda you've been drinking is cola, like Coke, Pepsi or Mountain Dew, then you likely have heart palpitations from all the caffeine.
