Can my ovaries become damage due to heavy lifting?!

Question: I often hear people say that women should not pick up or pull anything heavy; they risk damaging their ovaries and may not be able to have children in the future. I am asking this b/c I had to lift someone today (she was very heavy) and my adominal area hurts really bad. Should I be concern?

I'm pretty sure that's just an old wives tale left over from the days when women weren't allowed to do manual work. If your muscles can handle it, your internal organs can. I spent two months carrying 40 to 75 pound boulders, and my ovaries are in perfect health.

NO but you can get a hernia or a ruptured disc!

I personally have never heard this one before, the fear of heavy lifting is a worry for damaging your back if you don't do it properly. The risk to you ovaries in nil, I wouldn't worry about it at all. I have had 3 children and I used to a lot of heavy lifting the the employment that I used to do. Don't worry and your abdomen hurts because its the small of your back that actually hurts, if you strained the wrong way, you have to protect your back, so learn how to lift and carry heavy objects or people in the future, and still have all the babies you want to have. Good Luck

No, but heavy lifting can cause back pain.

If it persists, see a doctor.
