This might sound gross but....?!


Question: I recently was really sick...cold and fever and upset stomach...and i laid in bed for a good 4 days...it felt like i was sick forever...well i was to sick to shower..LOL :( cos when i got up i felt like i had to puke...anyways i took a shower today and i lost alot more hair then i normally do in the shower...my question is ...is it normal to lose more hair if you dont shower for days????? then if you shower everyday....

Yes. It is all the dead hair from the course of 4 days. It should be back to normal tomorrow or over the course of the next couple days.

It is probably from not showering or grooming and from being sick in general.

i dont know i know i shower everyday, and some of my hair falls out. So when you took a shower all your hair that was suppose to fall out for 4 days must have added up, and fell out at one time, water makes your hair fall out and break easier....

I would think so, possibly. But it is much more likely that you lost the extra hair from being sick. Hair loss is highly attributed to stress (which comes in many forms) and it sounds like this sickness you had put a great deal of stress on your body.

yeah i heard of that happening, your hair gets brittle cuz its not healthy from being so dirty

um.. i think it is because ur hair starts getting all dirty and ur head gets peely and hair can come out more easily.

It's normal to lose a few dozen hairs every day. If you go for four days without brushing them out, then you'll have a four-day supply to shed when you do.
