Who considers PMS a "disease"?!
Question: I just discovered today that a lot of people consider PMS to be a disease. I know there are more serious forms of PMS (PMDD) where women have to refrain from going to work during that time because of their behaviour...but I still can't think of that as "disease". To me, PMS is just natural behaviour for women to go through during the days or weeks before they start menstruating. Life cicles aren't diseases.

If it's a disease, then so is pregnancy, sex, and breathing.
i don't think it's a disease. THey are symptoms
When the symptoms of pre-menstruation effect your everyday life to the point where you CANNOT function normally, THAT is the classic definition of a disease.
A disease is simply a medical term that defines a condition that causes people to not be able to be a useful and productive member of society for long or short term periods.
Do you consider mental illness a disease? How about asthma? Or arthritis? These are ALL diseases...because the prevent people from FUNCTIONING normally every single day.
PMDD is most assuredly a disease. PMS is NOT. PMS is a gathering of symptoms in their mild to moderate forms that make women uncomfortable. PMDD stops women from being completely functional and therefore it IS a disease.
