Can the clamps fall off inside a woman after her tubes have been clamped ?!
Question: My girlfriend was concerned as her period was delayed two weeks this months. Sex cannot cause that right ? She was concerned about that so I told her I would find out and I know some experts on here will enlighten me and one will get ten points . Thanks

Having a tubal ligation should not affect the cycle of the period, and sex should not cause a delayed period either. As far as the clamps falling off of the fallopian tubes--one of the only ways to tell if the clamps or bands are still on is to do a laparoscopy to actually visual check inside of her abdomen. I guess?? you can also go to a ob/gyn and do a test to check the patency of her tubes. If they did fall off, however, there may be a chance of a pregnancy...

Highly unlikely, but possible theoretically. It wouldn't cause her period to be delayed, and sex couldn't cause that. On the other hand, having your tubes tied reduces blood flow to your ovaries, so your period might be irregular, and you might go through menopause early.
