How can I stop my period without side-effects?!

Question: HI
I am getting married on the 20th Jan! My period came 21 Dec (yesterday) and I don't want it to interfere with my wedding and holiday (I am going for a month)

Should I take the pill? Ive never taken birth control before, but I really need to stop my periods

They are so bad, I have to take time of work, cant move, and I cry all day. Once I had to go to ER :-(

I dont wanna go on depo, as ppls gain weight (and I need to lose like 30lb)

Can someone pls give suggestions?

I once read somewhere that research has shown that the correct diet can go a long way toward reducing the quantity of flow and the duration of periods.

The best diet apparently is raw fresh food. If you made at least some effort in this direction you would have the added benefit of weight loss. You would also feel better (once you got used to it) and you would also start to think more clearly and look prettier. These are the effects of a good wholefood diet.

See your GP immediatly, your periods are not something you should be suffering through.He/she will explain various options avaiable to you.

In the short term, yes, you could use the pill to stop your periods for your wedding/honeymoon, but you'd need to start now!

Best of luck!

Being on the pill has ALL kinds of benefits...and one of them is being able to schedule your period. Be sure to TELL the doctor that that's a primary purpose...'cause there are various types of pills. Do it now so your body has time to adjust! You may find that your periods are not nearly as difficult while you're on the pill. Also discuss hormone therapy with the doctor...which may relieve some of your period distress. Mine were awful! Additionally, birth control in the early months of marriage is a good idea...while you and your spouse are adjusting to being married...which is a WHOLE lot different than anything you've ever done...even if you've lived together for years!!! Have a WONDERFUL time! Merry Christmas

Norethisterone is good for stopping your periods. It is always best to seek advice from your GP to discuss suitability, side effects etc. Hope you have a great day!!

Ok I'm a guy, but a father. You are not going to stop your time of the month, That is a sign of life. You are not going through anything different them any other women. The pill will let you know when and you can plan around that. As a man and a Dad it is not a big deal, when it stops that is. Enjoy
