I took my first birthcontrol pill yesterday, can i just stop taking them?!

Question: I dont want to be on it anymore.
it was way too many side effects that i can not handle ilke not having any sexdrive and gaining weight.
i was put on it to clear my face and to regulate my periods but i could care less now. i'm really scared. i only took one so if i stopped completely would it be healthy?

Why not wait and see if you even get side effects before going off the pill. Wait it out one full pack and see how it goes. If you don't like it after that, you can stop. I am on a birth control pill and have not gotten a single side effect. My sex drive is what it always has been, I have not gained weight, or any of the other side effects listed. Give the pill a chance before you decide to go off it.

Talk to the doc first

You can stop. I went off of mine after being on them for 3 years. Didn't hurt me.

There is a good chance that it could put your cycle off and you'd have to start working out a little to get that extra weight off.

Yes, it is fine to stop at any time. The reason the package advises you not to stop is because they believe you're using them for the purpose of birth control, whereas stopping could mean you're able to get pregnant.

ummm youve been on it a day try taking it for a week and seeing how it works out chill out whould you rather have a kid i have one and hes a bouncing baby boy but its too hard to handle sometimes

It wouldn't hurt you. Remember that they are 'side-effects', not necessarily the same for every person taking them.

You took one birth control pill yesterday and now claim to have no sex drive and have gained weight because of it? All of this since yesterday?
Perhaps you should talk to a psychiatrist.

Yes, you will be ok.

You need talk your doctor. Why, you just wasting your money for your birth control, if you not going take it. You can't get refund it. Best things for you to talk your doctor first before do anything else.

Yes you can stop, but you need to talk to your dr for a better birth control method. I am on the depo shot, and I have no complaints. No periods, no hormone changes, its all good here. So if thats something you are intrested ask your provider.
Blessings,
Jen

If you just took your very first pill, or just the first pill of your pack, either way you'll be fine. I was on it for the same exact reasons, but I quit cold turkey because I switched insurance and they weren't covered. I didn't have any side-effects from it, and I haven't ever heard of anyone else having side effects from quitting.
