How many times can you take Plan B in a month?!

Question: Earlier this month, my boyfriend and I had intercourse and the condom broke. On the 12th, we got Plan B (or the morning after pill). I got my period the 18th and it ended yesterday.

My boyfriend and I engaged in intercourse today and the condom broke, AGAIN! Bad luck I guess!

I have been planning on getting birth control, but if I do get it, I can't start taking it until next Sunday. My doctor told me I would have to start it the Sunday after my period, when I do get on birth control.

I don't want to take any chances, so is it safe for me to take Plan B again this month? I want to go to a pharamcy and get it now, but I think I am going to wait until tomorrow, that way if I have any questions, I can talk to my clinician. Should I take it? Is it safe?

Thanks so much for all the answers and help.

Yeah you guys need to try a different brand/size/type/way of putting on condoms so you don't have that problem...and yes get on birth control.

You're not meant to take Plan B too often but as long as you've had a period since the last time you took it then I think you can take it again. Beware though it may well cause irregularities in your cycle, these can continue past the first month (usually the second period is about a week late), although you might be on birth control by that time to regulate it. Speak to your doctor if you are worried and they will advise you. Good luck.

u need different brand of condoms like trojan,.....the best...or stop being so dang rough.....my huney and i been rough and trojan brand never has ripped or broke...go take another plan b get it from another pharmacy then u did the last one and get is asap if u dont want to have a baby

yep, better brand condoms would be a choice idea. and make them bigger for your man cos it sounds like hes a rough rider ? lucky girl

Either you are using inferior condoms, or you are not using them properly. Use a different brand, and make sure you put it on like the instructions tell you. Plan B should only really be taken at most about 2 times in one year. Taking it twice in one month is really going to mess your body up. Go ahead and use it if you really feel the need to. Get on the birth control pill as soon as possible.
