Rapid weight gain?!

Question: 4 years ago when i was 17 I started gaining a lot of weight. I probably gain 4lbs a week and eventually went from 145-150 to a huge 220lbs in about a year. over the past 2 years I've managed to get down to 195. It all started when I was on birth-control (the pill) for two months but I felt so bad I stopped. Before I was put the pill I never really had a problem at all. Any ideas? or questions?

Some medications, including some birth control pills, will cause weight gain, when you read the information that the pharmacy gives you when you first get your prescription you should always read that because it will list it if it can happen with that medication. I was just on an anti-depressant for 5 years and while I was on it I gained 50 pounds, which of course I hated, when I went off of the pills I also lost the weight without doing anything special. It was just because of the pills. So in short you have to read and check into the pills and if the birth control pill you are on cause weight gain, then check with your doctor about changing them to another that doesn't and maybe the weight you have already gained will also come off of you. Good Luck
