Question: i live in south east tx.-how much does it cost to take care of a 90 yr old person.she does see,hearing so so,she can still get around,does not take any medication.she just needs to have someone superviceing to make sure she doesnt hurt her self.
my family wants to check it out to see if that might be a good place for her.

very costly(thousands a month)for a decent facility.
(long term nursing home)
medicare will pay for a short stay(about21-30days) as long as some therapy is involved.
medicaid will usually cover longer stays if needed.
assisted living usually is not covered by insurance.
ask the doc which type of facility is needed.

It depends on the facility. Some are government funded and supplemented dumps, and some can be VERY expensive.
