Well, maybe this will be a good opportunity to get closer to your mother. Trust me, you may not think so, but it's always better to know you can go to your mom if you have any questions or concerns. Even if you don't, it's great to know you can. You should find her when shes alone, maybe play a game with her, and ask her about it. Say something about it, you don't have to tell her straight out. Ask her a few things about it to make sure it's your period, then say "I think I've got mine..". She'll most likely freak out a little bit, lol! Most mothers do the first time.. I know mine did. After she congratulates you she'll probably just show you where she keeps her supplies and give you some until she can get out to get some for you. Don't be scared! Tell your mom, and after you do, if you're not comfortable with the whole subject around her, tell her. Tell her you're shy about it and she'll definitely respect that. Besides, if you don't tell her she'll find out sooner or later! (She'll see your laundry!)
Now, a few facts you may want to know. As you probably already know, it's different for every girl. If it's brown, that means it's old blood. When you get your period more regularly it will be a much deeper red, and near the end of your period, it will turn more brownish again. I'd definitely tell your mom so you can get some pads or tampons or whatever you want to use before it gets too heavy. If you're only using a liner, you should sleep with a towel underneath you at night. You may even want to try that when you have a pad on, sometimes it will leak through. Also, you MAY want to ask your mom for some Midol. It's for menstrual relief, it's a life saver, and chances are, your mom's got some.
Well, hope I was helpful! Good luck!

walk up to her put your hand out and say "kotex?"

just tell her straight, its not like she'll react differently and i'm pretty sure she gets them as well so its not that awkward in anyway.

good luck!

Why is it so bad?
God. She has them too.
Chill.

Your mum is female. She has had a period before. Just let her know you'll be needing some supplies too. If you are just starting you will want to have stuff on hand because periods can be rather erratic the first year.

that's just part of life go tell your mom . she is expecting it to happen to you soon anyways.

Your mom will prolly be understanding then you think.

Well i'm sure she knew it was going to happen sooner or later... I would just be blunt with it and say "I got my period" and just get it out there... i'm sure she'll be understanding

approach her and ask for napkin...
She' a female. She got that too.

If you keep it casual it will be a lot easier. just say "hey mom, i think we need to go to the store and gets some pads or tampons cause i started my period." even if you don't talk to your mom a lot she has been there before and will understand.

all i did was walk straight up to her and say "um mum, can you start buying some pads?" it worked

Go to your mom and tell her can I speak to you in private. Then she will understand its a girl situation. When your in a private place tell her mom I need a Napkin. She will understand because she is a female too. I had the period and I was shy but when I did this routine its really worked. Hope that helps!

A napkin is what you use to hold the blood in but u need to change it at certain times.

okay that is your period definitely.

okay when i got mine i got my mom to come in her room when she got home and i said "mom i think i started my period" its really simple and she will understand. she went through it too!!

hope i helped

She'll understand you, she's a female too. Just tell her "I need some Kotex, biatch" (jk)
