Bleeding while taking the pill continuously?!

Question: I've just started taking Loestrin 30 (changed pill after a bad time on the other one). My Dr said I can take 2 packs together this month because I would have been due on, on Xmas Eve, something I didn't want as I have awful periods. Yesterday the day after I would have been due on if I hadn't started taking 2 packs of pills together I started a light period and am still bleeding light today (and slight cramping). I didn't think you were supposed to have any bleeding if you take 2 packs one after the other. I thought you just missed a period and your next one came with the next 7 days break. Is this normal or is the pill not the right one for me?

Breakthrough bleeding can be a common side effect of taking the pill continuously. This can occur because the body is trying to adjust to the changes going on as it is so used to having a period. The first time I went on the pill continuously for medical problems I had breakthrough bleeding and thought it was my period only to find out from my doctor that it was not my actual period.

When taking the pill continuously for medical issues it can take up to 6 months to fully adjust to the changes with the way the medication is taken.

I would recommend checking with your doctor as well and let them know how this is concerning you to see what they suggest.

I did this too when I was going on my honeymoon and didn't want to have my period and I had the same thing. It was like a light period for two days and then gone. The next time I had a normal period.
