u need o put it up higher the reasn it hurts when you take it out is because it isn't filled with blood. and if u ever go to take it out again and it hurts try pouring some water on the cotton that is showing and it should make it exspaned enough so that it wont hurt when you pull it out. I've had that problem before

Well if you took it out when it wasnt wet with blood then it would hurt because it wasnt drenched enough

just use a pad.

You shouldn't be able to see the actual tampon.
Push it in farther and the blood will soak it.
If you aren't having a very heavy flow, leave the tampon in a little longer so that it gets more thoroughly drenched.
It'll hurt less.

P.S. Don't use cardboard tampons. They hurt like hell GOING IN.

Good Luck :]

It sounds like your flow isn't heavy enough for the tampon. If you are only spotting, or flowing very lightly, that is not enough to fill the tampon and give it enough lubrication to slide out easily.

Also, you should not be able to see any of the cotton sticking out. It should be farther up than that.

When inserting the tampon, you need to push the applicator in until it is at the pinched in, or ribbed part where you hold it with your fingers (right at the edge of the part that holds the tampon, right before the second part that pushes in). That would place the tampon about an inch and a half inside of you (the length of the applicator) When it is in that far, then you push in the second part, to insert the tampon up inside.

Hope this helps!

:)

If you can see the cotton it's not far enough, if you took it out the first time and it wasn't "full" (covered in blood) it was too dry and yes that hurts.. and sometimes if there's too much on it it will also hurt, but also be careful not to leave it in any more than 4-5 hours, thats a health risk. I would only use them when I was "heavy", other wise it always hurt..too dry...too wet.. can't win.. Good Luck

yeah you definately shouldn't see any of the actual tampon (cotton) once it is in. that could be the problem. try getting it up in further. good luck =]

let meh put it in 4 u n it wont hurt as much

you just need to leave it in longer until it is completely full. Or buy one with less absorbency. Don't worry it wont hurt again!
