How do you get rid of a yeast infection?!

Question: without going to a doctor? I am not even sure if I have one...

I usually have white discharge which is normal but today I had a sort of greenish tint to it. It smelled fishy. So how can I get rid of it? What can I do to prevent it?

I know this is grose but please help!

Green discharge and a fishy smell point to trichomoniasis, not a yeast infection. You need to see a doctor.

A yeast infection usually causes discharge that looks like cottage cheese, and doesn't smell fishy.

I would try some monistat (7 day treatment)

There are medications you can obtain from a chemist. You would have to ask at the counter and tell them your symptoms. However, it would be best if you were to visit your doctor to get a proper diagnosis.

Because there is a green tint to it, its best you go to the doctor because it may be what is called trichomoniasis or bacterial vaginosis. They would then have to prescibe you antibiotics

Try using probiotic yoghurt, both eating and inserting it into the vagina. Additionally wear clean cotton underwear as this makes the vagina breathe. look at your diet as certain foods change the ph of the vagina such as cheese and nuts etc. another issue is that of handwashing yur knickers as well as using unscented soaps to wash. if partner is present use condoms or better yet go and get a checkup where they will take a simple swab to ascertain whether u have yeast as well as ur partner

I was the same, just go to your local chemist, ask for a thrush treatment. Get the one day treatment. Its great, all you do is take 1 tablet and its completely gone within 3 days. I think its about 20-30 dollars though.

Good luck!

Oh and look up thrush symptoms because usually you would be itchy to have a yeast infection. Just to check.

This sounds like Bacterial Vaginosis.

You need a prescription for MetroGel. Go see your gyno.
