Heavy period... im worried!?!

Question: okay, so ive only had my period for a year and at first it was all okay and it wasnt too heavy. During the summer i had it quite heavy but it died down quite quickly. i have moderate bleeding but my last period was a week late (which isnt unusual because mine arent regular often) and was quite light, but this one was a couple of days early and painful and to me it is very heavy (my periods are hardly ever very painful) at first i was giong through it seemed a super plus tampon every hour or so and i was getting very worried, i was so worried i wore a night pad aswell when i went to bed. i worry about the littlest things so i couldnt sleep that night. the next day (christmas day) (my flow was still very heavy) yesterday (boxing day) it was still quite heavy but i didnt have to take any paracetemol for the pains. this morning i woke up and my tampon was empty. but then a few hours later it was full and i got the nagging pain again its the 4th day (is this normal for a teen) will it go?

Yep, you're perfectly normal. At your age the flow will differ as well as your timing. Since you said the pain has died down and you've stopped bleeding at night I'm sure your period will be over in a day or two. Many women have periods that last as long as a full seven days or more! No need to worry unless the pain gets out of hand or you don't stop bleeding after a full week. :)

Ya it's normal. I think your body is still getting adjusted. In a few monthes (3-6) it will probably go away. See a doctor or talk to your mom.

wow thats too bad. i got mine on christmas eve too, and it was super light, then super heavy that night and the next day. hope you feel better!!

i think for your age group u are perfectly normal...when i was in my teens my menstral cycle was very similar to yours....i would expierence heavy flow and then none at all...the cramps at times were almost unberable..but there is good news as u age most of the time it will become more regular... when u do go to the doctor for a pap please let ur doctor know..i kept a journal re/this when i was young so i could remember everything and the gyno told me this was a great idea and at times with certain patients he had asked them to do just that.....so hang in there hunny it will probably get better ...best of luck and happy new year
