Eating and Not Eating...?!
Question: I go through these phases where I have no desire to eat for weeks on end and then some weeks I want to eat constantly. Anyone else have this problem that can give me some insight? I am post-menopausal...by surgery, so I know hormones can play a part, but still.....????

I'm the same way. I just eat three small meals a day, and sometimes a snack or two in between meals. When I'm constantly hungry I just try to keep myself busy be reading, drawing or typing and every so often I get up and just eat a little something. Also, I usually keep a drink near me (water, milk, or juice) or get suck on candies to keep me from eating a lot of different things.
On the days I don't feel like eating I just keep telling myself that I need to eat to survive, so I just make sure that I at least eat three meals a day.
Hmm. Maybe your just growing and your hormones are taking part i nthis. Don't worry though, start a rountine, Like each 12 o clock for instance, eat the same food for a week at that same time. Then consult a doctor if this doesnt help because uve havde ur problem.
u dont eat for weeks? i dont feel like eeat sometimes, but it last a day or 2, so i dont know wat to do. Sorry!!
could be hormones that are contributing (obviously you know that) it could also be depression and/or anxiety that is also contributing.
I am not normal and i like, never eat. But i understand your phases though i am not anywhere near menopause. I do that sometimes too. But i am not the right person to try to tell you what's wrong. Normal food intake during the course of the day for me is a yogurt. (and maybe cereal/soup). I do however eat the occasional sandwhich or salad, but most times my intake is under 6g fat per day; so..... as i said, i am not normal. LOL.
Hope you feel better. You know, stress can play a major part in eating/sleeping habits as well. But i would most likely think that hormones are playing a big part with your current deal. Though i do believe that maybe stress is playing an underlying role in the eating cycles, which i do very much understand. Somedays i don't want to look at food, other days i could practically eat a horse. It depends on my mood really. Well, anyways, maybe you should talk with your GP to see if there may be another cause behind all of this.
hugs ?
