Go see a doctor. Not having your period for more than three months could put you at risk of bone fractures and osteoporosis, since estrogen replenishes the minerals in your bones.

It could be all of the exercise is overstressing your body and causing you to stop having periods, or you could have a hormone imbalance. Your doc might put you on the Pill, advise cutting back on the athletics, and/or tell you how to change your diet so you'll take in enough calories.

Discuss the month-long periods with your doctor, too. That doesn't sound normal.

it's usually from stress, injury, or rarely disease.

It's normal for periods to be irregular when you are younger, however I would think something might be up if they last for a month and then you haven't had it for several months. It may just be your body adjusting to hormone changes and such, but if I were you, I'd go to a doctor or a gynecologist and get it checked out just to be sure.

When girls start having them they are often irregular, they take a while to "settle".

you should talk to a doctor this doesn't sound normal

Extensive exercise can cause periods to stop; many serious runners and weight lifters find they no longer have periods. Excessive stress can cause amenorreah (lack of periods) as can a large amount of weight loss or weight gain. Anorexia nervosa is often accompanied by a lack of periods. When a woman's body fat falls below a certain critial percentage, her periods stop. Some medications can cause amenorreah. So can hypothyroidism (low thyroid). There are a number of pther reasons why periods might stop, but these are some of the most common.

In other words, there are so many possible causes that you'll need to see a doctor to find out why you're not having periods. Fortunately, it shouldn't be difficult for your gynecologist to determine what the cause is. And while it's probably not anything terrible, you should consult a doctor as soon as possible, if just for peace of mind.

it depends. how long you've had it for.
and some girls that are in sports. like you.
have irregular periiods.
just get checked, rather be safe than sorry.

NOOO!! its irragular period. thats not good....do u take birthconrtol?

if so or not you still should see a doc.

Woa, I had the same problem, that's usually what happens when us girls first get going, it's almost never regular. It's very common, nothing to worry about. Just take tampons and pads with you where ever you go.

You're probably under a lot of stress or you may have changed your body chemistry through your workout

Don't worry

No that is't normal if you are in shape and don't eat than yeah it is normal! People who throw up and dont' eat there food have periods like that.

hmmm, all i can say is talk to your mom, or go to the doctor.

no its actually normal because your period cycle probably isnt regulated yet...you might be pretty skinny though and if you are kinda underweight then you dont get your period that much

I would make an appointment to see my Doctor right away. Please dont' blow this offf. You are a young lady and one day would like children?? So, what ever the problem get it fixed."Happy New Year" and always, "God Bless You:.One more thing, tell your Mom!!

if your 13 your periods are probably not regular.
sometimes you could gte it and not get it for another 8 months or more.
but just to be on the safeside maybe you should see a doctor or talk to your mum.
