Left labia burning..yeast infection? serious answers please?!

Question: I noticed it after I had intercourse with my fiance, and I haven't had sex since then, because it has been going on for about 2 days. this morning I woke up and it burned so bad that the whole left side of my vulva was burning. I just got off an antibiotic for bv about a week ago, but my fiance did hit that section during sex, and he hit it pretty hard by accident. I told myslef that was probably the problem, and that I should wait for a while b4 I had sex again until it healed. my tests for chlamydia, gonoreah and trich came out negative when I was on the antibiotic for bv, and I'm also on rephresh which causes white chunky discharge on the 3rd day, only I can't tell. I don't know what to do. I'm totally clean and so is my fiance? Can u get a yeast infection after an antibiotic? And if it is a yeast infection, should I discontinue this rephresh to take something for the infection? no sex of course. I just had the discharge 2day and right after that is when it started to itch

Sometimes people develop reactions to certain antibiotics. I, for one, am allergic to amoxiciilin. It makes my labia flare up and itch constantly. It even continued a few weeks after I had finished the antibiotic...my guess is this is what's going on with you. It's actually quite common since antibiotics are made from pennicilin..which comes from mold. Give it about another week and check back with a doctor if it continues.

I put a cold wash cloth down there for a few mins. and it seemed to keep the pain away for a while. But if it continues, and you do have white stuff in the in the cracks in between the labia majora/minor...it may be a yeast infection.

A test kit is something that test for typical infections that females kit. You can get an over the counter one made by Vagisil.....you just stick the thing on the vaginal wall for a few seconds and take it out and match it to the color on the box and it will say what..if anything..is wrong with you.

Hope you feel better soon...I know it hurts!

You can get yeast infections when using antibiotics as it kills "good" bacteria too. You should do 2 things.

1 - Go to Walgreens and get a testing kit that tests for common feminine infections like BV or yeast. That will tell you "unofficially" what it is.

2 - Eat some yogurt - especially something like activia can help.

3 - If that doesnt work go see your doc. You could be allergic to your BF's semen. It really does happen.

I had these exact same symptoms and it was a yeast infection except i wasn't on antibiotics. I have heard though that antibiotics can cause infections. I know this sounds gross but if you buy some plain yogurt that contains "probiotic cultures" (it will say on the box) and you apply some on your vagina (not inside but on the labia where it burns/itches) it will really calm the itch down for a while. I know its gross and it will smell nasty but it works. As for the actual infection if you have not had it before go to the doctor so that they could diagnose it.
Goodluck! I feel your pain trust me!!!

You can def get a yeast infection from an antibiotic because antibiotics feed yeast. So there gets to be an overgrowth of candida yeast. Cut back on sugar, and get some yogurt. You can also buy a probiotic. Tea tree oil can cure a yeast infection. Look it up on the internet..
