Hun... you need to have a conversation with your mom. There is nothing to be scared about. Most all women have them monthly. like most said about 28 days. sometimes a little longer sometimes maybe shorter. If you want to get regular for sure, talk to your mom about being put on the pill or something like that and then they will be more regular. Tell her is it just to get regular, and have lighter periods, and GOD I pray you are not having sex yet....

I am 33, I get a shot called Depoprovia or something like that short name for it Depo shot. it has been years since I had a real period. It is so awesome. I don't take it as birth control, since I am single and don't sleep around, I take the shot because I used to have very very heavy bleeding. Which the shot takes care of that since I don't have a period, ad I only have to remember to go get the shot every 3 months so 4 times a year I go in the give me a shot... and that is it....

But back to when you will have your next peroid... I think you might be getting one about the first week of january, but don;t get too upset if it is a few days late or you don't get one (again back to the sex thing.... then I might be worried)

Starring the calendar is a really good idea.... and I think maybe adding a little to that have different stars.... put a star on the day your start, then on the following days rate the period, was it heavy or light. did you have a lot of cramping and were you really moody, Also add maybe a comment if you get a headache a lot during that time. I knew someone who would get migrain like headache right about the time of her period.... once that was figured out she got on some medications for the migraines and was able to control those. If nothing else make up a jnournal/diary of you periods or if you are really technologically advanced make up a speadsheet....... contact me brwneyes30_04@ yahoo.com and I could maybe send you a spreadsheet that I can whip up and leave rooom at the bottom of the column any thing you want to add, like am I more hungry what do I crave.... things like that....

man- does that sounds motherly or what? and I don't have any children..lol.. I just added the part about sex because there are some kids that are having sex, and do get pregnant at your age.....and that might be another talk all in itself......

Katie, periods average about 28 days apart, but many people's periods are not especially regular, especially at first.

Nothing scary about it, though. If you worry about blood showing on clothing, wear those clothes soon after your period, when you know the next one can't be coming yet, or wear a panty liner, which sticks invisibly to your panties.

the way how i figure out when my next periods coming is that first i put a star on the day i had my period and the day that my period stopped, then i count out 28 days on my calender and circle the day when i should expect my next period. i hope this helps

Honey, why you want get your period again? There is no fun with them. You already had your first period. It will take a while when you get next period. You will be irregualar as your age.

when you first start having periods, they are very irregular. there are other signs you can look for. your breasts may become tender around the time your period is about to start, increase in appetite, minor head or back ache, moodiness, breakouts on face, water weight gain or feeling bloated. There are lots of indicators, you just have to be on the look out for them. As you get older you will know what symptoms are associated with your period. For example, I always know when I'm about to start because my breasts get so tender and I am extremely moody. I also crave chocolate around that time. Just carry some pads with you so you will have them in case you start at school or something. If you start feeling crampy or strange, just ask your teacher if you can be excused. Don't worry, it will get easier with the older you get.
