It's not a big deal, once it's under control, the worst of it is difficulty getting pregnant. If you're not too concerned about having children in the first place it's almost a blessing.

Since you haven't had your period you should go to the doctor and have them put you on medication to force your period, it hurts like hell...trust me on this, but your body HAS to discharge the lining for health reasons. Taking birth control pills will normalize this. Don't put off this visit to your doctor.

A few of the more well known side effects include (possible) excessive hair growth, depression and weight gain, all of which are controllable and all of which are not side effects you would necessarily have.

It has been found there are often other side effects that we don't realize are side effects of PCOS until we begin talking to others with our disease.

Don't panic, it's easy to live with and many of us even have children. The first step is to contact your doctor and have them put you on regulatory medication.

For more help or just to talk to people with our condition, ask questions and get support, I recommend www.soulcysters.com. It's an entire community of people with PCOS, there are move of us than you'd think and we'll answer and discuss basically any problem associated with it. Do not use WebMD (they're clueless on this disease)

Hope this helps.

Don't worry... I have polycystic ovarian disease and you are just gonna have to get used to it. The only option is to go on hormone therapy if you are not already. Talk to your doctor.
