About breast cancer.....?!

Question: When the docters say they found a cluster of 5 do they mean cells, tumors, or what?

Answers: When the docters say they found a cluster of 5 do they mean cells, tumors, or what?

I can only think of two types of "clusters" found within the breast......

Is this something that was found on a mammogram? If so, I would think that they mean a cluster of five microcalcifications. There are many benign microcalcifications, but some are the result of breast cancer. Usually, if this is a mammographic finding, the radiologist will ask for spot compression, magnification mammographic images. These images will show help the radiologist determine if these are benign microcalcifications, or calicifications which should be biopsied. If these ultimately turn out to be a sign of breast cancer, the good news is that it is an EARLY breast cancer. The purpose of getting routine mammograms is to find breast cancer in its earliest stages, when it is more likely to be cureable.

If this was something found on a breast ultrasound, a cluster of cysts could be found. If this is the case, there is no concern, as breast cysts are totally benign and do not require any treatment.

why dont you ask your doctor?

i would say tumour because five cells would hardly be noticable and they would only form one small tumor.

if you have issues you should really talk to your doctor and get him to explain everything to you thoroughly
