How long til I see my GP?!

Question: I am a 22 year old female. I have not had a period since the middle of October, but I am not sexually active, am not on the pill and not stressed or anything like that. How long should I leave it before I visit my GP?

Make a routine appointment with your GP and he/she will probably run some tests to check your hormone levels etc. You may be referred to a gynaecologist for further checks and possibly an ultrasound scan. Don't worry too much as it is extremely unlikely to be anything urgent or serious.
Some women do develop infrequent and / or irregular periods and sometimes there is no answer as to why it is happening. The only time it becomes a real issue is if and when you want children, but fertility drugs can usually help when the only problem is infrequent menstruation.

you should have gone already to a dr

Get an appointment soon as they can fit you in
just to check everyfins fine

Why did you not phone and book already? Go now!

go asap, most gp surgeries are only closed new years day,

You already should have called . Just call know and tell him about your condition maybe he knows something about your body type or some disease that you may have got already but didn't notice. ?f he asks you to visit him just go visit . ?t's important you know.

Hope i helped

You say you are not stressed, yet you go and ask a bunch of clueless strangers online who are going to give you pretty much the same answer as the person before? Yeah.... Stressed much?

I don't think you should leave it any longer, you should book an appointment to see your GP. If there's no chance you're pregnant as you've explained I think just to be causcious you should speak with your GP.

You need to ask yourself a few questions.

1. Are you eating properly?
2. Are your periods very heavy and painful or are they light?

Also, sometimes girls periods take a while to settle down. Mine are so irregular it's unbeliveable. Go to the GP asap though if you are worried. It's better to have something checked out than to let it trouble you.

Go ASAP!

Your best bet will be to see a Gynecologist. They specialize in all sort of female issues. It sounds like you may have a hormonal imbalance. They can help you much better than a GP. I would make the appointment as soon as you can get in. This can be sorted out, and the sooner the better.
