Is it possible for me to go down a cup size without surgery?!

Question: I am 24, almost 25, 5'3, 190lbs and wear a 36DD bra. I used to weigh 250 and wore a 38D then, but when I lost weight, I went up a cup size. I am still losing weight and working at it harder, wanting to tone up and build muscle through exercise instead of just dieting now. I really want to be able to have my chest shrink up without having to have breast reduction surgery. How likely is it that my bust will shrink if I get down to, say 140 lbs when I grew losing 60 lbs?

There's a curious misalignment when it comes to bra sizes. For example, you used to be a 38D, and now you're a 36DD. Clearly you've lost sufficient weight to warrant a smaller bandeau.

But the cup of a 36D bra is not the same size as the cup of a 38D bra. So in saying you're wearing a 36DD now, it's possible the DD of the 36 is closer in volumetric capacity to the D of a 38.

Put another way, your breasts may not have increased in size at all. If anything, they might *seem* bigger, simply in comparison to your now slimmer ribcage. Getting your weight down to 140, you will very likely end up with smaller breasts, or at least breasts with lesser volume than you have now.

That said, bear in mind that with weight loss you may discover that your breasts will lose volume and become saggy. Or as some women put it, 'deflated'.

One correction to the saggy/deflated look is a breast lift. However (and all you need to do is spend some time looking at before/after lift pics online to see this), breasts which have been lifted surgically tend to look more 'boxy'. One way to counter this effect is to add a small implant.

Weight loss and surgery aside, there are many guys who would fall over themselves trying to get to know someone with your endowments. Genuinely nice guys with a certain preference who would be only too happy to take you shopping to find proper fitting bras and tops. Seriously.

At any rate, congrats on your weight loss success and motivation towards weight training. And when it comes to exercise, don't fret over what training programme is 'best' for you; the one which is best for you is the one which you can stick with. Just getting to the gym is like 80% of the battle.

The more weight you lose, your breasts will eventually get smaller. Trust me on that. Sometimes it takes time, and sometimes it's the last place to lose. But keep it up and you will see them go down.

I lost a large amount of weight, and my chest was the first thing to get smaller. Weight loss will do the trick.

you might, but i think you will end up with left over skin. and i dont know where the left over skin goes o.O

Since you didn't lose a cup size by losing weight the only option would be surgery (covered by insurance).

Sorry!
