Yeast infections CAN occur in a 12 year old girl. Common causes are tight clothing, poor hygiene, over-consumption of sugary foods, simple carbohydrates and fast food, over-consumption of yeast-risen breads and pastries.

Simple, easy-to-use products are available in drug stores.

ON A VERY SERIOUS NOTE, make sure your daughter is not being sexually abused by another man (father, step-father, brother, uncle, teacher...) Sorry, but I had to make you aware that if your daughter has an infection and it turns out NOT to be a yeast infection but some other kind of STD or bruising from penetration, she will need alot more than medication!!! She needs to be made SAFE and will require sessions with a therapist! I soooo hope this is not the case!!! Good luck and PLEASE take the time to investigate this possibility thoroughly!!!!!

Covers the topic pretty well. Hope it helps.

Well i'm not a doctor, but yes she could have. It could be from wiping back to front instead of front to back, or it could be a hygene issue (sorry).
I think that it would be a good idea to take her to see the doctor & maybe they can find out why & what the problem is.
All the best.

ps. also antibiotics can make this happen, maybe she's been on some recently?

i dont think its a yeast infection if she is only 12.
it might be signs that she is devoloping you never know.
i say call your family or local doctor, and get her booked in as soon as possible!!!
Because she/he can answer better than any of us.

it is possible to get a yeast infection from diet.
take her to the dr please
an untreated yeast infection can cause some very serious issues

Take her to the doctor. NOW. I don't want to shatter your world but you have to look at the possibility that she is sexually active...either for or against her will...has nothing to do with whether she has started her period... It could be other things...but thats the one that would worry me enough to haul her into the doctor.
Best of Luck!

Yes, She could have a yeast infection.. My Grand daughter got one and she was only a few months old...Yeast infections can come for all sorts of things.. Food, wearing tight cloths, bubble baths.. Take her to the Dr for medicine.. Have her eat yogurt very helpful and the good ol cranberry juice is even better,, Good luck, and Don;t worry its OK

OK first of all if you want to try to pose as an adult don't do the pplleeaassee hheellpp thing. Dead give away.

Second, if you're having issues talk to your mother. She'll understand. I know it's an uncomfortable conversation to have but, she can make a doctor's appointment for you before the problem gets any worse.
