Help I'm worried...~~~ALOT?!
Question: Ok I have to go to the gyno for the first time, They sent me a brochure on what to expect/prep!
I looked at the bottom and it said "rectal examination"!!!!!
Now i'm getting one

The rectal exam is quick and painless. The doctor just sticks a gloved finger up there for less than a second. It's no more or less annoying than the rest of the gyno visit.
Here's what a visit to the gynecologist is like:
* You wait in the waiting room for a long time
* Finally a nurse takes you to an examination room and leaves you alone in there. You remove your clothes and put on a paper robe and sit up on the exam table.
* You wait for a long time for the doctor to come in.
* The doctor comes in and asks you to lie down. She will give you a breast exam (feel them for any lumps) and then she will ask you to spread your legs on the stirrups. It's not fun to have someone looking at you down there, but it's a necessary evil. You will feel some pressure as she sticks a metal object in to hold you open. It doesn't hurt, but it's a little cold. She fiddles around down there for a minute or two taking a sample of your cervix cells (a pap smear) but you can't really feel anything because you have no nerve endings in your vagina. She will stick her finger in and feel around above your pubic mound with her other hand to feel your uterus and ovaries. Then you'll get a quick finger in the butt, and then it will all be over.
* Then the doctor leaves, you change your clothes, and you wait for a long time again
The whole gyno procedure takes 5 minutes max, but you'll spend a lot of time waiting just like you do at every doctor's office. It's normal to feel a self-conscious about spreading your legs for a total stranger, but remember that this person literally looks at vaginas all day long and you have nothing down there that she hasn't seen thousands of times before.

why r u going at 13? im 14, and i have never gone. i think u should start going after u lose your virginity!
My friend says it doesn't hurt at all it's just a little uncomfortable. But the gyno talks you through the whole thing and tells you what he/she is doing all the time.
dont worry about it, it will be done and over with before u know it, like 5 min top, i had my first one when i was 17 i was scared, but u will be glad to get it done and over with and know what to expect for future ones, all part of being a woman, so stay calm, its all good
