What should I do about rape?!
Question: Okay, my best friend was raped. Behind the school by 2 guys. She doesnt know who they are because they put a paper bag over her head. She hasnt told her Mum yet..and she came to me first. She is over at my house now and it happend 2 days ago. She hasnt told the police...I trying to help her. I watch that show Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, and I always saw how they collected evidence, so I told my friend to take a Q-tip and put it...you know where and then I put it in a plastic bag. What should we do? We are home alone because both our Mums and Dads are out skiing for a few days. My friend is 14 & I am 13.

First, your friend needs to report it and tell her parents.
She should have reported it as soon as she was able two days ago. Evidence deteriorates and after two days..... and the Q-Tip by yourself won't be admissible. It must be done at a hospital and with a chain of evidence. Rape is hard enough to prove without making it harder by waiting two days to report it.
Well call the damn cops!! Or at least tell your mom because shes going to find out soon enough anyway!

I highly daugh the guys DNA is still in her after 2 days from when she was raped. If she becomes pregnant by one of them you could have a lead.
But you must call the police to file a report.
freeze it or get it to police so they can keep it for dna to catch them some time in the future, this is very important as i have heard that it can happen again and even end up in death,she should also get a morning after pill within the week from a drugstore
3 Things you need to do immediately. Get a hold of your parents, they need to know immediately. Take her to the emergency room to make sure theres no scaring or internal damage and make sure she did not get any STDs or pregnant and tell the police - this is a crime and the longer you wait to inform them the less likey they will be able to catch who did this.. and keep them from doing it again to someone else.

Unfortunately, the time to act was 2 days ago. There is very little that the police can do with so much time lapse. As far as the sample was collected, unfortunately, it is not very useful. There is a work up that has to be performed and everything must be collected under strict legal regulations. Your friend does need to see a doctor to ensure that she did not get a std and she needs to be placed some sort of morning after pills to ensure that an unwanted pregnancy does not occur. She should still file a report with the police so that they know that a predator is out. Finally, or should I say first, she needs to call her parents and tell them what happen. It may cut their skiing short a couple of days but as a parent I would want to know so that I could be there for my child. Tell your friend to stay strong, be brave....whatever happen was not her fault!

Its common sense, please call the cops. The longer you wait the worse. I hope you catch tose sick punks, tell em i'd personaly beat them up but i'm afraid i would kill them.
if you want the two bastard caught and rightfully punished, talk to the police ASAP! while there is still evidence! they will run tests but please be aware that their resources and equipment isnt as good as it is on SVU. i too have been raped but i didnt press charges because i was much too young and was too scared to tell anyone... 12 years later, im sorry i was so quiet! the sooner you tell someone the better and (believe it or not) the EASIER it will be! if you cant face your parents directly, try telling a teacher or a school counceller, someone older whom you trust.

first of all. dont let your friend feel dirty or guilty. what happened to her could not have been prevented. this is why it is called rape! depending on how long ago the rape actually happened im not so sure the qtip will do you any good (but hold on to it just in case!) you should call your parents...or wait till they get back if its soon...and then notify the police so these bastards wont get away with things like this. i am sorry to hear this happened! oh and you may want to write a letter to your school saying its not that safe...you dont have to put your name or anything on the letter...just let them know that something terrible happened!
Firstly, I'm very sorry for your friend.
From the point of view of catching these guys, I'd recommend the police straight away. The sooner they can do an examination (horrible, I know) and take both your statements the better. Leaving it too long will not be helpful. The police have counsellors to help her (and you) to explain what happened.
However, the most important thing is for her to get through this and feel safe. She has come to you with this because she trusts you. Your biggest priority is not catching these guys, it is being there for your friend. She cannot be un-raped. But she can learn to get on with her life. For that she'll need the support of her family (I do suggest telling the mother as soon as she feels confortable doing so) but also the support of the person she trusts most at this moment. That's you. Be brave for her.

Your friend needs to get her parents back NOW.They wont blame her for what happened it not her fault and she needs her parents support. She also needs to be tested for STD's and AIDs which can be done at the hospital if she allows a rape kit to be done.
Also DO NOT wash the clothes that she had on when the attack happened , as the Police can get DNA evidence off of them because if your friend has showered etc there may not be a whole lot of evidence left on her.
She really needs to do this as you and she may be going to school with the attackers, and I doubt you want this to happened to others. Please please call the Police.
There are people there who can help her.
Also after all the police work is done, maybe you can go to a rape support group with her when she feels up to it, as she will be having a lot of feelings about this which can affect her now & later on, so getting help and talking about it with others that have gone threw it will help her.

OMG, you have to tell your mom or her mom or some adult IMMEDIATELY!! Sweetie this is not a television show your friend is in a terribly serious situation that neither of you guy are equipped with the proper knowledge to handle and I am not saying that you guy are dumb or anything just that there are people out there that are TRAINED PROFFESSIONALS that do this everyday and have been on there jobs for years!!! Collecting the little bit of fluids that you did may not be enough to make a proper DNA match and still have enough left over for all the other test that will be necessary!! OMG!! Also you friend is of the age that she can get PREGNANT AND THE LONGER YOU WAIT TO TELL AND ADULT, ALERT THE POLICE AND GET HER TO THE HOSPITAL INCREASES HER RISK OF PREGNANCY!!! She needs the morning after pill like NOW!!!

My recommendation would be to go to the Emergency room right now, get a rape kit done and call the police.

Yo dudes! Right here we go. Tell the coppers and tell your headmaster. I personally would take a stunner, mace or pepperspray to school, dont know if it is legal but it would defonately protect you, but most of all tell you mum dad and the cops.
