A while back I hit my thigh on the corner of my end table.I got a bruis with a big hard bump in the center it also dented in. I didn`t think it would ever go away,it slowly faded. The dent stayed there for a long time afterward. It seemed like it took months to heal. So do you know reather or not you bumped it? If not you might want a dr. to look at it to ease your stress.

It is quite common with a bruise. Often it is a hematoma under the surface. It should go away on its own, but please check with your doctor to ease your concerns.

Occasionally after an injury, blood collects and pools under the skin creating a hematoma. This gives the skin a spongy, rubbery, lump-like feel. A regular bruise is more spread out and may not feel like a firm lump. A hematoma usually is not a cause for concern unless it occurs on the head after a head injury. It is not the same thing as a blood clot in a vein, and it does not cause blood clots..
