I have PCOS. My symptoms include weight gain in the middle, excess hair, lack of periods, lower sex drive, and acne. Mine is a milder case (has responded well to meds) as I have heard of many cases of women who are morbidly obese because of PCOS, or develop male pattern baldness. These can happen if PCOS goes untreated. Usually gets treated with an insulin medicine like glucophage and a birth control pill. Besides medication, try to maintain a healthy weight and diet.

There are also other symptoms that involve cholesterol and androgen levels in the blood, so you'll have to get blood drawn. They may do an ultrasound of your ovaries as well to see if you have cysts. Another thing they may do is get an MRI of your pituitary gland to make sure your problems aren't stemming from there.

Good luck.

Irregular periods, excess weight gain, excess facial hair, thinning of head hair...etc....the symptoms of PCOS are different for different women. Try this website: http://www.soulcysters.net and read up on what other people have said about their experiences with PCOS. They also have good resources for what to say or get checked out at a doctor's appointment, etc. Great resource for PCOS!
