How do I wash down there so its not smelly?
always wipe from the back to the front. When washing was the walls and up from the back to the front. Do not wash inside as this can cause infections. If you take a bath every day you shouldn't be 'smelly'. If you are, then you need to see a doctor. Perhaps you have a yeast or bladder infection?

Is it true that I have to shave?
You don't have to shave. But, in this day in age it is considered good hygeine. This is more for looks than anything. And at your age you shouldn't be worried about what it looks like unless you have to take public showers at school or something.

When do i shave?
when stubble grows back from the last shave. Or when it becomes itchy

Can i use tampons?
yes, you may need someone to show you how. It takes practice. Ask your school nurse or a friends mom to help you with this. You can also ask one of your friends to show you how if they wear them. Just remember to use the lowest absorbancy that you can without having leaks. Make sure that they are always out...don't forget and leave them in. Also, always check to make sure that the string is securely attached.

some other things to consider to keep you healthy:
don't take baths as this can cause bladder and yeast infections. some girls are more prone to these infections than others. I simply can not take a bath without getting an infection. Also, douching can be bad.

Use feminine wipes to help keep yourself clean and fresh.

Make sure your panties have white liners and do not wear dirty panties.

This is a very difficult time in your life. Your body is changing and you have questions. Find someone that you can trust. A friends mom or big sister would be the best bet. :)

Wash with soap and water, like you would any other body part.

You don't HAVE to shave.

Shave whenever you want.

You can use tampons, just be sure to use the lowest absorbancy possible.

gently with mild soap when you bathe. if you dont want to be hairy. whenever you think its a lot. yes

when you take a shower just use a wascloth with mild soap on it and was from front to back . Exspecially when you have your period. You an use tampons and it is not nessecary to shave, that is only a prefference

it shouldnt be smelly? is it? :S
soap and water!!!! not internally
yes u can use tampons but make sure your using them properly...

Just wash with the soap you wash your body with. And you don't have to shave its your own personal choice. The hair actually keeps bacteria out. An you can use a tampon but don't leave it in for longer than 6-8 hours! Hope I helped.

Just wash it like its any other body part. Do not put soap inside of you though, just the outside. No, you do not have to shave, that is totally up to you. If you do shave, it would be just like your legs, whenever the hair starts to grow back, just shave. You can use tampons. There is nothing wrong with that, just make sure you are taking them out and not leaving them in too long. If you are washing down there and its still smelly all the time, you might ask your dad to take you to a gynocologist. Dont be embarassed! Its your dad for crying out loud! He might not know how to answer questions and deal with it, but I am positive he would take you to a proper doctor. Just tell him that to make it easier for HIM you would like to go to a womans doctor. You are gonna have to anyway girl. Better start now. This is not something you want to be shy and quiet about. My grandmother got cancer down there and died b/c she wouldnt ever go to the doctor, they could have caught it in time! Please do it!

Just wash like normal when you're in the shower...
There's no special way of doing it, not that i know of.
Just rinse it out down there
You don't have to shave but if you do go with the hair not against it... it can hurt=X
When to shave?? when you're in the shower i guess.
You can use tampons but not until you lose your virginity.
Well you can use them now but they might hurt you especially if you aren't taught correctly how to use them. I say wait till you're older.

do it however makes u feel ok and clean ... don't use too much soap though
well u dont' have to shave but its best if u do .they sell bikini razors that are just the right size for the sides u can shave whenever u think u need to shave like when swiming or so and yes u can use tampons !!!

You need to learn how to do this. Wash with soap (not any flower kind, it can irritate you, just use dial or ivory) and water. Get inside all the "folds" and make sure they are all clean. Rinse very well, dont leave soap on you anywhere. Dont use any of those sprays or powders that are supposed to make you smell good. Your girls parts are not supposed to smell like gardenias. If you feel like you must,a little baby cornstarch powder is ok.
Shaving is your choice. You can if you want to or not. Most ladies do in this day and age. Be careful, you dont want to cut anything important. You could shave for trimming, if you really want to do a trim job, you might try a battery powered shaver (dont use it in the shower),
When to shave-- whenever you think it is time again. Every day or every other is usually good.
Yes, you can use tampons if you want. I guess you know how. Dont leave one in for more than 4-6 hours and it is not recommended that you use them over night. You did not ask--but in reference to douching. Dont!! YOur body will clean itself naturally, this will only cause potential infections.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss.
On flip side:

*Wash gently with a washcloth in the shower. Never wash INSIDE, just wash over the general area.

*Nobody HAS to shave, although many woman feel cleaner and fresher once shaven. If you do chose to shave, make sure hair is soft by waiting until the end of your shower to shave. Use a fresh razor, not a dull one. Use a mild shaving cream, or lather up really good. Shave in small downward strokes, rinsing the razor between each stroke.
If you do deside to keep clean shaven, shave every 2-3 days once there is a little stubble grown in to prevent razor burn.

*Yes, any woman can choose to use pads or tampons. If you are nervous to try out tampons, just relax and read the instructions in the box carefully.

Goodluck! =]

If you go to your GP he is bound to have a practise nurse or possibly a life style nurse, these nurses can offer you all the advice that you as a girl becoming will need.

People on this site can offer you advice but, as you are only 14, as a man I would hesitate to advise so try the nurse at your doctors practise and I am sure they will give you all the help and advice that you need

Just use the mild soap, when you taking bath or shower every day. If you want to use the tampon, as soon you will have a period.
Yes, you can shave it. But be very careful with razor. You could get burn on your skin. I recommend to wax than shaving.

My OBGYN told me not to wash with soap, if I do use Non scented soap. Because their is natural bacteria and if you wash it away it could cause problems. She told me to just rinse with H2o.
