Question: I was just wondering how many here do not have any coverage what so ever, and how do you go about getting your exams and doc visits paid for. What if you had PKD and had no insurance and needed medications and help medicinally. What would you do?

I do not have any insurance as of current.
There are a few doctor's offices or clinics that I go to that go off of your income. I'm a student and as broke as can be so I usually pay like $20 to see a doctor.
You can always try a free clinic though.
You could probably get medicaid from the dhs office.
PKD is a dibilitating disease and they would probably cover that for you.
You could also try getting social security for having that disease and they can usually help you with medical insurance needs.

There is always county insurance and low rate insurance you can get for yourself. Look on the internet for insurance options. If you are not familiar with insurance you need to talk to somebody who can help you. Most countys have free services for this. I specialize in insurance iand it can be tough. Do the research
I have the very best in the the world because my wife works for a union company that has a union policy that they will cover spouses for free, if the spouse's policy is more expensive than what they offer. $20 co-pays, and most doctors. I can also refer myself to specialist if I want to, without having to get my PCP to sign off first. So I get it all, and I pay zero for it! Wife still has to pay for herself, but not me or our child. In fact, when we had him, the total price was $150 total.
