Important question...?!
Question: I'm a 14 year old girl and I've had a swollen lymph node under my left armpit for about 5 months now..i saw the doctor and she said that is wasn't cancer or anything; she said it was just doing its job...but then why is it just swollen under my left armpit and why has it been like that for so long? What can the cause be?
Some helpful information might be:
-i shave my armpits
-i use deodorant
-at the time i got the swollen node i also had a cold that involved coughing and losing my voice
-it doesn't hurt or anything
-i've recently been touching it a lot, but during the first 2 months i didn't...

You need to see another doctor. You should not have lymph nodes which continue to be present and or cause discomfort. I do have one which is still present - I had had an infection years ago and I can still feel and see it - but it is not the size it was nor does it cause any discomfort.
maybe switch deodarant, dont shave as much/ use new razor/ dont apply too much pressure.
