How long will my hot flushes last for? I have been having them for 4 years now.?!
Question: Hot flashes can last for years, a lot longer than 4 . My suggestion is seeing your gyno and asking about HRT. Hormone replacement therapy. They have helped thousands of women. Hot Flashes happen because our ovaries are getting small and shutting down, the ovaries are where estrogen comes from. I cannot take any sort of estrogen, so, in a moment of despair, from having the flashes non stop, I went to the pharmacy, and looked in the vitamin alse and found Soy Menopause. It helped almost right away.
It is good to see your gyno though, to make sure you are doing well with your bone health, and you need pap smears to check your cervical and ovarian and uterus health. They can help you learn how to deal with all that is going on
I always wear cotton...and layers. That way, I can peel them off as the flash hits, a fan is good as well, one in the bed room really helps. Cotton sheets! My poor husband has to deal with the fan, but I have a small one sitting next to my side of the bed.

well do u get them non stop or every 3rd day or so...see a doctar if you havent....somedays your body can have hot flushes if the air is not fresh and your left in a small space.
Well, My Mum had them for 5 years. To help with the hot flashes, it works really good to stand in front of a fan on high. Or open the freezer, or I think the best thing is to go outside with just shorts and a Tank top in the snow. Feels pretty good even when I dont get them. XD
Wow.. 4 years!! Are you taking any hormones at all? Well it depends on the woman as to when and if they go away.
When I was 28 I had to have a total hysterectomy because of Endometeriosis, I had hot flashes for 6 months till I started taking Premerin. After all the talk about how estrogen was bad for you I threw it out after 9 years of being on it, and I was not too keen on putting horse urine in my body.
I had hot flashes for a month then started taking natural estrogen and that was 5 years ago,and I haven't had any more problems.
Try Soy Estrogens such as PhytoEstrogen by Solaray and Black Cohosh or Soy Menopause plus many others which are in your natural food stores.
