I was 11. It lasted about 4 days and started on my birthday of all days. I was rather terrified for some reason, why I have no idea. I guess it was just scary what was happening. I've always been a person who doesn't like sharing things in the least, so telling my mom was like the most dreaded thing in my life at the time. After nearly 2 days of trying to put it off and hoping it'd go away I just told her "mom I started my period..." and she got all excited and proclaimed "my babies turning into a woman" hooray for making me dread the event even more. Its scary and odd yes, but telling your mom is a necessity. Just be sure to bring a hat and big jacket when your mom takes you 'woman' shopping for the first time. It can be SOOO embarrassing. A good hat to hide your face and a jacket to zip up and wish you didn't exist should suffice. XD

I was 9 and I showed my mom right away.
I was 13 when I started my period for the first time. It lasted for 7 days (still does now when I have my periods) and as to how I told my mom when she wondered why I was up in the middle of the night: I just said, "Mom, my period started".
I was 9 and I absultely hated starting that early!
i was 11 yr. old . it started during 2 week long girl scout camping trip. 1 of other girls told mom who was leader for different troop.
i was 12 when i started my period that was 16 years ago i just told my mum i was bleeding from below and then she told me it was nothing to worry about and explained y it lasted around 5-6days

it was my 6th grade year in novemeber so iwas just turning 13 years old and it lasted for about a week. and i HATED every single minute of it and still do. and i just flat out told my mom and she cried haha its okay its normal for them to act that way they are allowed to lol

13 and 10 or so months. I had it for 14 days (longer than usual). It was easy to tell my mom, because she is a doctor, and we're really close. It was kind of awkward though because I found out at my grandparent's house, and my grandma had long past menopause. Don't be affraid to tell your parent or guardian, this is perfectly normal and every girl goes through with it.
I was 12. It lasted about 7 days. I just told her. She had already discussed it with me and bought me some supplies.

i was 9y and 10m for 6 days mom keep it was coming.she did 8y and 3m so she was looking for mine.

I was 12--I just straight up told her--I think it lasted like 5 days--I don't remember for sure (it was 8 years ago)
I was 11and it lasted eight crappy days. I kinda had to tell my mum I had no femine products. It was elven o'clock at night and I just walked up to her. We were alone and I was like mom I started my period can you run up to Wal-Mart and get me some pads. There wasnt much she could say so she just went and got me some pads. We didnt have a party and she didnt tear up she was just whatever. Pretty Cool.
