A kidney infection could make you feel like h*ll. If you had lower back pain your kidneys were probably infected as well as your bladder. I nearly died from one, so I recommend that you do go to the doctor when you start to feel that way.

It could be that the infection never totally clears up after the antibiotic treatment. If you can, go back to your doctor after you take the meds and get another urine test to make sure all the bad bacteria are gone.

Instead of soda, drink lots of water or unsweet tea--herbal best. Keep yourself flushed out. Eat as healthily as you can. Try to limit the amount of sugars you consume (that includes high-fructose corn syrup and corn syrup.

Also pee before and after sex, and wipe from front to back so that you don't introduce bacteria from your anus into your urethra..

I do hope doc prescribed meds. And yes, some women, have an excruciating repeated and long familiarity with UTI. Couple suggestions might help to prevent the next.

1.Some women get one every time she switches sexual partners because bacteria is introduced into her from the penis. Use a condom or have your partner wash ahead of time.
2. Wipe from front to back when using the restroom
3. Urinate immediately after sex
4. Keep yourself hydrated and drink juices like cranberry which has a natural UTI fighting effect

Also, if you continue to have troubles have a kidney panel run. And ask your doc. to try a diff. or longer course of antibiotics. Good luck. I know they are awful!!!

Did the Dr. give you a pregnancy test? If he/she didn't and you are sexually active, you might want to grab a home pregnancy test and take it...sounds like how I felt right before I found out I was pregnant, and BTW, I kept a UTI while I was pregnant...
