I takes a few tries to get it positioned properly, then it becomes second nature to use them. Are you using Tampons, the ones with the plastic applicater? If not, you should, because Tampax has a cardboard applicator & can be uncomfy to insert. One thing you need to remember when inserting a Tampon, is that it does NOT go straight up inside the vagina. It actually, tips back at an angle. You'll know it's going in right, because it'll glide in easily without causing you any discomfort. Sit on the commode, relax, then insert a Tampon. The key is to take a deep breath & relax. Insert it far enough until the strings are exposed, then you'll know it's in where it should be.

yes it's normal. It needs to go STRAIT in and only to the line on the applicator. it will only insert so far. Try propping one leg up on a toilet seat for a better angle.

yes. Esppecially if you are a virgin.

depending on the tampon is it regular not super or the light ones becase depending on how old u are u should use the light ones esp. ur first time ... i mean if u were really heavy u wouldnt have problems....

same here! im a virgin..idk if you are tho.... i have the same problem

Make sure you are using the correct size. If you are a virgin, then there's possibly not enough room for a larger tampon. You may need to use regular or smaller. The best thing to do is to use the smallest absorbancy that you can for your situation. Make sure you are relaxed when trying to insert it and that it goes in straight. Sometimes it does help to stand and prop a leg up on something. If it hurts that much though, you might just want to switch to pads for a while.

i think it's better better to stick with pads
at least until you're not a virgin
and you can get infections if you dont put it in the way you're supposed to,
you're not even supposed to use tampons if you just got your period, you're supposed to wait at least a year or two.
pads are easier and safer.

1] get a junior tampon, a mirror, and a jar of vaseline
2] go in bathroom and remove pants
3] squat over mirror, so you can see vaginal opening
4] put a bit of vaseline on end of tampon applicator
5] insert into vaginal opening, with tampon aimed at small of back [ vaginal vault is at an approximately 60 degree angle ]
6] push applicator in til fingers touch your body; then push 'plunger' to insert tampon
7] remove tampon applicator
TA-DAA!
