I couldn't get my tampon in because (this is quite graphic!?)?!

Question: i bent down in front of the mirror (i had a mirror behind me) and used a super thin tampon, anyway i opened up and there was this like really sensitive 'ball' at my vaginal entrance blocking the entrance, what was this & is this normal? anyway i took a deep breath and opened it a bit more and suddenly this really rude noise came out but it wasn't out of my *** it was out of my vagina, i saw the entrance but loads of air came out. eyah i know really really gross, right? but i was scared of putting the tampon in incase it blocked the air & gave me pain. So anyway i freaked out, jumped up and sort of got a bit scared. then i tried again but couldn't find the hole. i dont know whats going on but i cant find the hole again. ugh? and also what si the big ball that sort of 'blocks' the way? thanks..

The 'ball' you saw was probably your hymen.
It's only about an inch inside your vagina.
Some women's hymen has less elasticity and makes using tampons very difficult.
See a doctor and if it is your hymen, it can be removed.
Or..you could do it yourself.

The reason you can't see the entrance to your vagina is because you're so scared. Go take a bath, relax and try again. Watching yourself insert a tampon is probably freaking you out too. Just try it by feel.

Maybe speak witha obgyn and ask for some advise. Happy New Year :)

Try going behind the ball.

Umm, go and see a gyno

first thing r u a virgin

go see ur gyno...ur making me worried and wonder

i've had that air before. SO WEIRD.

use a pad for now.

Haha ok calm down first of all because if you are tense it's NEVER going in. Probably a vagina fart (yeah they exist!) and you have to aim for your back when you put it in, like tilt it a bit. It's really tricky to learn, and it can hurt when it's not in properly. The ball...? umm your clit?

how old are you?
At any rate, maybe you have a blood clot and its blocking your passage. Put on a pad, and ask your mom or and older sister. Cause if air is coming out (which is not abnormal, it happens) your ovary is probably trying to pass something.
Just wear a pad for a day, and it should improve. If it won't, call an advise nurse at your local hospital.

um, honey, the 'ball' is your hymen. yes, its sensitive because it's sole purpose is to keep your vagina closed until you are sexually active. Until you're not a virgin anymore, use pads.

A polyp. I had some in my uterus and one caused all kinds of problems by occasionally acting like a plug to my vagina. It was weird.

I went to my GYN and he got all EXCITED when he did his exam. Had never seen one in that position before. Even tried to get my permission to let ANOTHER doc look at it! Yeah, right. Like I'm show and tell. I was so embarrassed. I just GLARED at him. Then he tried to show it to me with a mirror. I was like COME ON, I really don't want to SEE it!

The polyps are benign. They will put you under and remove them. Really no biggie.

Sounds like your polyp is further down than mine was.
