Bulimia...?!

Question: so, i use to be anorexic, but with a lot of treatment and lack of will power, i have slowly become a six foot tall 19 year old 138 pound slob. so recently i started purging anywhere from 1-3 times a day. now i dont purge all my food, but just enough to where i feel i got at least 100 calories out per purge. since i dont puke a lot up, and i eat about 1200 calories a day, and i DONT loose weight, it isnt considered bulimia is it? i dont want to screw myself over again, i just want to be skinny like i use to be, but have a hard time starving myself like i use to... please be serious with these answers please...

It sounds very much like the early stages of Bulimia to me. Please, please gt help as soon as possible. The quicker you get treatment, the better your chance of recovery is. You say that you have recovered from your Anorexia, but surely if you were completely better, you wouldn't feel fat and feel the need to diet in such extreme ways?
My sister is in hospital due to her Anorexia, so i do have some idea of what you are going through. Get help, please.
Good luck, God bless. Kate. x

It absolutely is considered bulimia. Normal people don't vomit up any amount of calories. Please seek help. Please let you loved ones know so they can help you before it becomes more serious.

you do know you want to be skinny for women and not for men right? men dont like that dead look.

take it one step at a time.

Yes, that is bulimia. You shouldn't do that you can ruin your throat and teeth. You should try something, theres some foods that are good for you and make you feel full so you aren't hungry or try some pill that curbs your appetite so you arent hungry as much. But 6 feet and only 138 sounds like you're underweight.

yes it is and i know you wanted to be skinny like you used to but your body has been growing and you get more grown up and if you do want to put on weight i would drink about 1 pint of milk every day my mam did that and it really helped

I find that severe dieting is not the way to go about losing weight. I have lost the most weight eating a healthy diet with 1500-2000 calories a day, and leading an active lifestyle. I couldn't believe that I was dieting and didn't lose a pound, and then I started eating properly with exercise and it all dropped off! It was the exercise that made all the difference, and I can't do that without the energy. The human body does not respond well to the effects of anorexia/bulimia as it goes into starvation mode, taking in any energy it can and when it can, and storing fat reserves rather than muscle.

I know such a high calorie intake without puking will seem like a lot at the moment, but try building up slowly by eating more "light" foods like vegetables and it won't seem half as bad.

What is or isn't considered bulimia is not that important, as this is just a descriptive medical category. It doesn't depend on how much you eat or how much you lose - it depends on how you feel and whether it is causing you mental distress to be so concerned about becoming really skinny. Seeking help will not make you fat: you can still have a beautiful body, but feel happy about it!

Of course it's bulimia :/
There's nothing really I can say to help you because I know that no matter how many times you hear people telling you to stop it wont matter because you'll probably just push those words away. The best way to lose weight is to eat healthy and exercise dear, that's the only way.

yes that is bulimia.try exercise instead.results tend to last longer.and don't worry so much about weight.if someone doesn't like you for who you are then they are not worth your time.maybe the weight problem you see is the only thing you can control and you have some other thing that you don't like about yourself and the weight is the thing that you focus on because you can control it?could be anything in your life.just a thought.

Hi I'm a 27 yr old girl of 2 boys and a loving boyfriend, i for one know exactly were your coming from as i have been in your shoes and some what still are, this bulimia you have is very hard to rid off especially when you have it in your head that your over weight, i still get that feeling and feel that i am repulsed by myself when glancing in the mirror. Even though i model underwear i have the weakness of eating a bucket full of food and then see the bottom of the toilet bowl with my puke in it. What im trying to say is that help is out there maybe's not online. This is a serious matter that you really need medical help from your own gp, if you don't you'll get worse i know it's hard and you feel like your at the bottom of the pit screaming for help and wondering why doesn't anybody help me im too fat!!! Im not going to bull **** you with anything i have what you have got and the only remedy their is for you is gp help and a specialist they will help you as long as you are truthful with them then you'll get the resuilts that you long for. Work with others who you trust like a gp and specialist, family don't know what to do apart from shout
" YOUR OK " whatever, is what you think after they say that. Believe me speaking to someone who your real close to does kinda work but doctors are best by far cause they get paid for their job and do it good. Hope you do get help fast and you get well soon, Bless be with you for a new year 2008!!!

i had the same problem last year with this.

i was just entirley to insecure about myself and messed up but im alot better now.

please stop its not healthy.

God Bless

Rehab, girl! You're on another downwards spiral!

Here's the thing. People develop bulimia and anorexia as ways to try and cope with stress, and to feel in control.

If you break a bad habit like this, you have to CHOOSE to replace it with a GOOD HABIT that will help you cope with stress and feel in control. Otherwise, you relapse into old behavior which was the problem in the first place.

138 for 6 feet tall isn't heavy. 200 pounds would be, you're not 200 pounds. Stop counting calories, stop puking at will, and find a better way to cope. There are 100s. Meditation is cheap and easy, yoga or exercise is good, heck, learn to skydive even. Just get some ways to feel in control that won't kill you, ok?
