Everyone annoys me! How do you deal with the moodiness of PMS?!

Question: Ok, I hate everyone. From the idiots who some moron gave a license to, to the screaming baby at the mall. I rather just be alone.

I got my period, but I often get to feeling like this as part of PMS.

How do I cope with the moodiness and get through this New Years?

It's OK, you are normal, just spend the time alone -- I'm not kidding! :o) I get awful cranky for a week before my period; my husband is often about to leave me by the time it starts (JK!)...

For the short term, just recognize and accept that you are cranky and not a nice person to be around, as a temporary condition, and remove yourself from social situations just to get through it. Stay away from large amounts of caffiene and try to meditate, exercise, or do yoga.

For the long term, consider BCPs. If you get on the right one, they will help regulate the hormones causing your emotions to kick into high gear, though it sometimes can take a couple months to get regulated.

Take care and gets lots of sleep -- being alone is OK sometimes... Happy New Year!

:o)

I get the SAME way! LOL! It is awful, I know. Sometimes I catch myself saying "I hate people". Or I can be at work and people around me talking will annoy me. You just have to try your best to tune it out - make yourself laugh somehow. When I get like that at home I warn everyone that I am cranky.

I use Midol and do things that make me feel easygoing and cheerful like listen to music or run. But that's me.

I don't get this way every month, but have had it enough times to know exactly what you are talking about.

For me, if feels like people are going out of their way to do everything that they can to annoy me.

Try to relax. If you think it will help, take a warm bath--cup of tea. Turn on a funny tv show or movie. Read.

If you are with people tonight, take some time to go outside or get away. Stay away from the alcohol..it will make you feel worse!

I know EXACTLY how you feel!!! All I had to do was wake up and want to start ripping heads off!

I have PMDD, a more severe form of PMS. I just got to the point to where I just didn't like myself anymore, I was sick of feeling mad and ticked off for more then half the month and I felt horrible that I was treating my family so badly.

I talked to my GP and she suggested that I try taking an anti depressant, Prozac for my symptoms. I wasn't fond of taking a pill, but I was willing to try just about anything to make me feel "normal" again.
It worked, but not without a little adjusting- I take one 10mg Fluoxetine and a 20mg Citalopram. Either one of them alone helped for a short period of time but I have better results with the two together.. I take them everyday with excellent results.
I have left my grouchy self behind now for the last 2 yrs.
My daughter also has bad PMS, she has been taking the birth control pill Yaz and I have noticed an improvement in her mood.
I added a link for you below,
Good Luck and have a Wonderful New Year!!!
