Nuvaring and spotting?!

Question: I put my very first nuvaring in on december 16th, when i started my period, and it last for like ten days! Normally it lasts no longer than 5! Then, ever since, every day i've been feeling crampy and have been having light brown spotting every day! Is this normal? Will it go away? It's very irritating! Thanks..

Yes its normal...It's just your body trying to get use to it....It did it to me also...And yes it will go away....Give it a week or 2 more...If it dosen't call ur doctor

Because you are having different hormones introduced into your body, you may be just adjusting. I say call ur nurse hotline and see what they are tellin you.

If its that irritating, try something else. You don't want this thing to create some kind of issue that could be detrimental to your health. Make sure that you read about the side effects www.nuvaring.com and keep in contact with your GYN.

When you first change the type (or start on) birth control you can have symptoms like this. It is indeed your body adjusting. Some bodies take more time than others. Also, the ring might not be the right type of birth control for you. Some people have spotting using different methods. For example, they can have spotting with the patch, but not with other types, or spotting with the pill, but not with any other method. Best bet, try the ring for a couple months and if it still continues, then call your Doctor and try a different method.
