Question about birth control?!

Question: When you're reading websites about birth control and it says you shouldn't use if you have a history of diabetes and have a history of heart valve problems does it mean you have these things or does it mean, does it run in your family and do your family members have it?
Thanks for the help

It means both. Yourself as well as your immediate family members, parents and siblings.
The reason is that sometimes taking birth control may aggravate your condition or facilitate a pre-disposition in your family like heart problems and blood clots.
When you go to the doctor, mention your concerns and let the doctor know if you have any of the conditions running in your immediate family.

It's referring to both you and your family. If one of your family members, such as one of your parents, has a heart valve problem, then there's a chance that you could have it too. If your thinking about getting on birth control or are already on it, make sure that your doctor is well aware of your health history and your family's.
