I'm having a laparoscopy procedure, due to Endometriosis, has anyone gone th!

Question: I have gone through this, four times. A couple of the procedures were a bit more involved than the straight forward laparoscopy, but overall they weren't so bad. Yes, you can expect to have some discomfort and soreness in your abdomen. You can also anticipate a bit of tightness in between your shoulder blades, that is where the gas that the doctors use to inflate your stomach can lodge sometimes. But having had this procedure on four separate occasions, I haven't had the shoulder discomfort everytime. When I had the laparoscopy only, I was feeling completely better, as in all soreness gone, within two weeks, however, after close to a week I was feeling enough better I was able to return to work. It took me longer to recover from my tonsilectomy I had three years ago, than my endo surgeries. Oh, and btw, the procedure did help my pain level, but nothing has helped more than modifying my diet. I hope that this helps, best of luck!

Laparoscopy is not a difficult procedure, it just means they want a look around in there to see what's what. They'll probably go in through a small incision at your navel ... mine took 2 stitches and is completely unnoticeable now. You'll be under anesthesia, and probably won't have any soreness or pain afterward, with just a trip back to the gynecologist to remove the stitches and discuss results.

On the other hand ... I got pneumonia at the hospital when my procedure was done, which kept me down for the next six months. Unfortunately, they tell me that's common (with ANY hospital visit!).

when i was married my Wife went thru this EXACT thing. it hurt her to beat all hell due to the fact that they push some kind of air stuff in your to inflate you so to speak so they can move organs around to get at the endometrious stuff. on my wifes it was only like 75% effective but it did help stop the long suffering she had been going thru. the problem's will still exist most likely when its all thru as in she still couldn't concieve a child. but atleast it helped stop her serious pain she was in daily.
