How do I tell my fiance that I've got an eating disorder/anorexia?!

Question: I want to tell him but I fear that he'll want nothing more to do with me. Whenever I tell him I'm not happy with the way I look, eg. I want to gain weight, he says I look gorgeous and he doesn't want me to change. I don't have my bones sticking out of me but I'm pretty thin and I hate it. I'm scared of going to the doctors on my own, my parents have took me once but the doc was useless, everytime I ask them to take me they just say I'm too busy or I'll do it later (they never do). Do they not care about my recent weight loss? I haven't tried to loose weight, I just have, I don't know why.
I only exercise once a week, in PE/sports at school.
I eat so much chocolate, I can't believe I'm this thin.
I eat as much as I can but can't gain weight.
I'm only 16 btw, so give mature answers please.
My fiance has just turned 18.

Hello. I would just sit down with him and explain the situation. He may notice that you are thin and just being nice by telling you he doesn't want you to change. If he knows that you have something bothering you he will begin to wonder what you are keeping from him. After you tell him he may even offer you more support which will help you out.

You need to tell him. So he can help you. You are pretty young to be getting married in my opinion.

You are not ready to get married at 16, especially if you cannot even tell your boyfriend you have an eating disorder. Why such the rush to get maried anyways?

Second of all...you don't seem to HAVE an eating disorder. You eat whatever you want, don't exercise, are trying to GAIN weight...doesn't sound like an ED to me...just being thin doesn't constitute an eating disorder.

You need to tell him, if not he'll find out sooner or later & It'll be much better if he finds out from you, other than someone else. ?young love?=]] I wish you, and your finance the best. I'm glad you trust in him & yourself so much, you want to be with each other forever=]]

h.t.h.

first off, you should be able to tell your fiance anything, your relationship should be that strong and you should be able to say anything without fear of rejection (otherwise check your relationship). SO just tell him.
It does not sound to me that you have an eating disorder, unless you perge through vomiting or laxatives or enemas because you are not exercising alot. and know as a teenager, your metabolism is very high, and it is always hard for a lot of teens to gain weight even when they eat like crazy, because your body uses that energy for growth and development.
But you are concerned, so it would be nice if your family would at least help you address it and take you to the dr, even if they tell you you are fine, it will ease your mind. But if you tell your fiance, maybe he can be the one to take you to the dr.

Good luck

You need to sit him down and tell him what is going on. Part of marriage is sticking with the person you love through everything, and if he can't handle this, he's not ready to be thinking about marrying anyone. As for your parents, you need to sit them down and tell them that you need medical treatment and they need to make the time to get you to a doctor. How much are you actually eating. Because if you're eating normal amounts of food, like 3 regular size meals a day or 2000 calories, you might have a metabolic problem that's causing you to lose weight. If your parents aren't going to take you to the doctor, have your fiance take you, or find another adult, like a friend's parent or an aunt or uncle to take you. And if you have a license, just go yourself.

Honey, you don't have an eating disorder. As you have said, you are not trying to lose weight and you eat as much as you can. Some people, especially young teens are just naturally thin. Don't worry, as you get older you will gain more weight. And if you are so worried about being too thin you can drink energy/protein drinks that help you to gain weight. There is no need to tell your finance since you do not have anorexia. But if you are worried about that you can't be completely honest with him all the time that at some point he may "want nothing more to do" with you then PLEASE do not get married. You are NOT ready for that kind of long term commitment from someone, if you are so concerned over the way you look, etc. PLUS 16 years old is way too young for marriage. Are you pregnant? Is that why you are getting married? Honey, you don't have much self confidence in yourself, so how can you love someone if you can't love yourself? I believe counseling would be very beneficial to you as well as an antidepressant. Good luck!

haha i was excatly the same. I always wanted to put on weight but never could until......... I started my drinking habit! Yep lots of bourbon. Than when ur a lot fatter than ur sisters who r older than u, and u have memory loss, and get edgy all the time you regret it.
Anyway enjoy it why u can cause its not going to last unless ur a body builder. Ur 16 so ur hips still have a bit to go. And as for getting married, u asked for a mature answer but no mature 16yr old is thinking about marrage. Its just an act for u to look mature. When u are 20 u will look back and laugh so hard at urself for thinking u were in love.

OK well...firstly i don't think you have anorexia. You eat whatever you want, you don't exercise obsessively. Your just naturally thin. Plus, if you WANT to gain weight you CAN'T be anorexic. You say you eat as much as you ca, Anorexics purposely restrict food intake, SEVERELY.

Second of all your a little young to e getting married are you not?

Uh, It doesn't sound to me like you have an eating disorder.
People who have eating disorders either don't eat or vomit everything up because no matter how thin they get they try to lose more weight.
You eat everything and try to gain weight. Thats not an eating disorder.

what's anorexia? and why can't you gain weight? i donn't understand... when people out there tried to loose weight like hell, you couldn't gain weight?
poor you, you must be dreadfully thin. what's the trouble in teling him? he's so good to you, he'll understand. plus, he'll not like it if he knows you have a disease after you're married, right? it's now or never.
again, what on earth is anorexia?
