If you have had a lot of stress lately that could be one reason. And sometimes it happens for no reason at all. Don't worry about one missed period. But if it continues, see your doctor.

Are you taking any medications, supplements, changed your diet, changed environment (drastic temperature changes or higher/lower elevations influences hormonal production), did you start/stop smoking, or drank lots of caffeine lately? Sometimes these things can greatly affect your menstrual period. Don't forget mental and physical stress can also add to the change of your monthly clock. Hope this helps.
I'm 21 and i didn't get my period for 2 months for some odd reason, i am sexually active so i figured theres a possibilty I was pregnant. But it just started up again so I know i'm not now. I think it can depend on stress levels and how your lifestyle is at the current time. I've been under alot of stress.
3 weeks is really short! if you are younger you may still be settling into a rythm. Read Taking charge of your fertility, it is a great book it teaches you how to chart your Basal Body Temp and you can tell from that what you're body's doing. Also, if you don't have a problem touching yourself you can check your cervix and cervical fluid and that will give you a clearer picture about whats going on. :) you'll be OK. sometimes girls miss periods!
