Girls and down there doctors only! i think i might have blood clots?...?!

Question: iv had my period for 7 years now and i always thought it was pretty common but now people on this site are freaking me out and i see questions to the same thing i thought was just normal and people are saying they could be blood clots.

i don't have cramps with my period and even if i do have they are very small little pains that are in my lower back. my period is normal i think but every now and then on my 1st 2 or 3 days of my period which are the heavy days i get little clumps of blood along with the normal blood...is this normal?

your period changes approx. every 7 years so this is just a change.

I started getting blood clots a year or so ago. They can be something to talk to your doctor about but in most cases it's nothing to worry about.

it can be a sign of endometriosis or cancer so just keep doing a yearly pap test and you'll be fine!

I think thats normal. its just what you said it was, blood clots. i wouldnt say its anything to worry about. I used to notice that too when I wore pads.

I use to have that too but nothing happened after it.

Ask your mum or a doctor, someone who has more experience..

I WOULD SAY YOU ARE NORMAL THEY SHOULDN'T BE BIGGER THAN AN OLIVE THAT CAN MEAN A PROBLEM SEE A PROFESSIONAL

if so, then there's been something wrong with me for years..

yess, it is normal i get those sometimes too, dont worry

Are you sure it's clumps of blood? Menstrual discharge is composed of the endometrium itself, together with a little fresh blood caused by the breaking of very fine blood vessels within the endometrium as it detaches itself from the inside of the uterus.

the gyno told me that as long as they were marble sized or smaller they were ok, but that if they got to golf ball sized I should go see him. I know what you are thinking, GOLF ball sized, OMG! That's what i thought too, but he said it is normal to pass several gross clots each month with no worry.

I have those clots like that and so do most of my friends who are on their period. It is caused from bleeding heavy and your body not having a chance to get it out before it turns into clots. The only thing the clots tell is that you are a heavier than average bleeder during that time of the month. You might want to mention that to your dr. so he will know to maybe check and see if there is an abnormality causing the heavy bleeding and also to keep them aware to check your blood count for anemia since you do bleed so heavily.

Yes its normal Its the secretions inside your vagina mixing with the period fluids, read this book called the period book it explains everything.

Yes, they are blood clots. They are perfectly normal though. They do not pass through your heart or veins, and pose no risk to your health.
Your period is what happens when your uterus sheds its unused lining. This lining is not completely liquid, and it breaks off in clumps, which is why it comes out this way.
Period blood is much more than just blood, it includes tissue.
It should have small clumps, it means your body is doing it's job.
If your period was just straight blood then there would be something wrong. Don't worry.

I have he same thing. if your not experiencing any pain it is prolly normal

its totally normal cuz remember not everything that "comes out" on your period is blood
its also tissue so its fine

Yes, it's normal so don't let it scare you anymore. Not all women have cramps. Some have them so bad they have to stay home from school or work. If you exercise then that might be one of the reasons you don't have cramps so bad. Exercising helps a lot. And most all women have blood clots from time to time. there may be some they never noticed them before but they have them too so stop worrying.

the clumps are just small pieces of the lining that your uterus is shedding, called the endometrium. It is completely normal. Many women are lucky enough not to have serious cramps and it is common to feel cramping discomfort in your lower back.

yes its normal, be sure to use pads, dont use tampons- u could get toxic shock cos the clumps cant get out and its bad,
i heard the clumps are just regular blood that has clotted from sitting in there too long, ask your dr if your worried, xxxxxxxxxxx
