Well - no one can force you to do anything you don't want to. Lots of women aren't on birth control pills.

They probably will want to run a couple tests though - at your age you should be having a regular period - if not, there might be problems that will prevent you from getting pregnant. Truthfully, I assume that - if you haven't had a period for 9 months, have not been using any type of birth control and have been off your oral - there is mostly likely a problem.

It is your decision what will happen, the doctor can only recommend. What about trying a different type of pill - there are ones that have different hormones and different amounts of hormones.

Also, just because you aren't are oral birth control doesn't mean you can practice safe sex and use a diaphram or condoms.

There are zillions of bc pills. It may just be finding the right one for you. This is the reason there are so many kinds and strengths. Perhaps you've been on pills that were too strong. If you want to stop trying to be regular, I just loved my diaphragm. I didn't have to remember it every day, no chemicals, just as effective, holds blood in it while on period, and you use just a little spermicidal on the edges for extra protection and better seal. I just loved mine. But it does nothing for regulating your cycle.

You must go to doc and do examines, because you can have polycistical ovariums or sth else that can cause infertility. So, if you planing to get preg soon, check everything so you would not have troubles with the pregnency. I know it's not a good feeling go to doc, but it's worth.

See your gyn and be sure to ask all your questions. You can refuse the bc pills but if one will help solve your lack of a period why deny yourself a cure? Ask a lot of questions until you feel secure about the best direction to take.

i no some onr in a simmlar sisuation exept her periods lasted weeks and they were all the time the dr suggest the pill but she is married and is hoping to have a baby so they just kept an eye on it and ran test the thing is if you are not geting a period it means you are not ovulating so i dont no if you will get pregn. on your own
