Are you supposed to wear a bra to sleep or is it not healthy?!

Question: I have heard two completely different theories on this question.

Answers: I have heard two completely different theories on this question.

Wearing a bra can restrict the lymphatic flow in the chest area. While there is some debate about this, I did some research and found enough evidence that I would not suggest wearing a bra to bed.

Here is some information gathered:

Women who wore their bras 24 hours per day had a 3 out of 4 chance of developing breast cancer (in their study, n=2056 for the cancer group and n=2674 for the standard group).

Women who wore bras more than 12 hour per day but not to bed had a 1 out of 7 risk.

Women who wore their bras less than 12 hours per day had a 1 out of 152 risk.

Women who wore bras rarely or never had a 1 out of 168 chance of getting breast cancer. The overall difference between 24 hour wearing and not at all was a 125-fold difference.

This information was from

This is a matter of much debate and you probably have heard two different theories because no one really agrees. I would just do whatever is the most comfortable for you.

It probably doesn't have much of an effect, but common sense would tell you that it COULD restrict lymphatic fluid circulation, and lymphatic fluid circulation is important for the dispersal and filtering of toxins into the blood and through the liver. If you cut off lymphatic circulation, you can get swollen lymph nodes, which could calcify, which could turn cancerous, but that is such a very long shot that there probably isn't much scientific evidence to back this up, it does make sense though.
They say massaging your breasts is the best thing for circulating lymphatic fluid, and can therefore not only prevent breast cancer, but make you more likely to find an abnormal lump.

I don't think you should, but ppl do it anyway.

i don't because it leaves those little bra marks on my chest and it hurts, but i've always heard its not too healthy to do
