Since you were at a low grade stage I'd say it's damn near impossible for it to evolve into full blown cancer over the course of a year. In fact, by now, what you had going on may have even gone away on its own. But the good thing is anything from low grade up through cancer and everything in between is very treatable. Based on the results of your biospy you may be scheduled for cryosurgery or a LEEP procedure (laser) to kill the abnormal cells. Try not to worry to much, and if you do need to have something else done and they dilly dally about getting you an appointment ask them to refer you somewhere else. Good luck.

I had a bad pap smear when I was 2 months pregnant. My next on the baby was 6 weeks old and it was also bad. They did the biopsy 2 weeks later. I had to have a pap smear every other month the next 2 years, then every 6 months the next 2 years. But everything turned out ok.

I've had a cervical biopsy done....quite a few actually, but I never had to wait a year after the initial results came back. Most I had to wait was a month when they had opened slots for me to go in.

If you had to wait a year, then maybe you should have found a doctor who had time to see and treat you. I can understand if you were pregnant but you weren't....or you didn't indicate. Cancerous cells could have spread, yes, but let's not jump the gun here.

My advice to you is to go and find a new doctor, or go to a free clinic and tell them your situation. They should be more than willing to help you, or they'll refer you to a specialist who CAN help you and WONT make you wait a year.
